What is Barcode Data Collection?

February 1st, 2010 by admin

Barcode data collection (often referred to as automated data collection) is the process of replacing manual data collection processes (hand written notes, inventory with clipboards, bills of lading, etc) with automated systems. These automated systems are typically comprised of bar code scanners, hand held terminals or computers, bar code printers, bar code media (labels and ribbons or other consumables) and a software program for receiving the scans. ADC Integrated Systems has over 150 man years of experience in the design and development of these automated systems. We work with the finest manufacturers of data collection equipment including Motorola (formerly Symbol Technologies), Intermec, Zebra and Cisco.
